TRIMSPA's® Hemphill Hopeful of Pocono Revival

Cedar Knolls, NJ July 30, 2004 -- Ryan Hemphill has, thus far, had a fantastic season in the ARCA® RE/MAX® Series, but one valued thing is missing from his list of accomplishments: to win in his home state of Pennsylvania. This weekend the "Red-Hot" rookie will have a second chance to earn that coveted victory. The Apollo, PA native and his #64 TRIMSPA® Dodge® are heading into the triangular speedway of the Pocono International Raceway® for the running of the Giant® 200 on Saturday.

"I have had great success so far this year, but a win in my home state is something I really covet," said Ryan. "I am sure that I am no different than most other drivers – there is just something special about winning close to home with family and friends around. We had an awesome car for the first Pocono race, but we were bitten by the fuel mileage game. We also had very little track time before that race due to a necessary engine change early in the weekend. After the race I felt like I had a pretty good hold of the uniqueness of the track and it should not be an issue at all this time around."

Hemphill finished 7th in his first ever visit to the 2.5-mile track earlier this season in the running of the Pocono ARCA 200. Ryan was running a close second and chasing down leader and eventual race winner Scott Riggs in the closing laps of the event when his #64 TRIMSPA Dodge ran out of fuel and relegated him to the disappointing finish.

The 22-year-old rookie and his TRIMSPA/Braun Racing team will be bringing with them the same hot rod that they ran in that first Pocono visit. This is the same car that Ryan ran two weeks ago on his way to Victory Lane at Gateway.
Hemphill will also be gunning for his third straight victory in the ARCA RE/MAX Series as he is coming off back-to-back wins at Kentucky and Gateway. This season, in only 10 starts in the series, Hemphill has earned five wins, four Pork Pole awards, seven top 5, and eight top 10 finishes.

"I am very anxious for another shot at running at Pocono," stated Hemphill. "Not only is it special because it is in my home state, but also because it is in front of all the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series people. I have aspirations of some day racing at that level and I welcome the opportunity to showcase my talents and this TRIMSPA team in front of them."

The green flag for the running of the 200-mile event is scheduled to wave on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. EST.
